That includes Sorenson Squeeze 8.5, Sony DVD Architect Pro 5.2, and TMPGEnc Authoring Works 5. The sharpness, lack of artifacts, color fidelity, and tonal gradation are superior to that of the other products I've used. Pull in the media AMA and transcode to DNxHD 45.This is something in our workflow we may be doing wrong but I can't find a more equal quality and when I do a One Step with XDCAM35mbps format in Avid MC all I get is audio and a white screen.ĭespite it being an EOL product, Avid DVD does a terrific job with DVD's. *EDIT 2* We also shoot on Sony XDcam at 35mbps. The video turned out good.for 16mbs that is. *EDIT* I guess the references being on the PC internally is enough for the program to point to the main files on the server.

Once that finishes I would then burn the image to a blu-ray. It would take about 4 hours to transcode all the video. I don't know why this is needed but it made a difference in working for me and in the future I will have to probably do the same for the next project.Īfter that I would create the image. I used a folder I made in my project folder. One thing I find odd is that blu-rays say 25 gig but I think there is only 23.3g available and I am not sure if Avid DVD knows that so I went a bit lower just to be safe.įrom there I would now set a new temporary folder in preferences to somewhere else on the computer. In project settings I selected a bit rate bewteen 16mbps-19mbps I can't remember exactly.

From there I built my menus, selected my thumbnails and everything else. So I transfered the files to a folder I made on my desktop and pulled them into the project. We use a Terablok server and Avid DVD won't let you pull from a server. From those projects I made quick time reference files. So we wanted 4 lectures we shot in HD on one Blu-Ray. I edit on the Mac side since 2008 but kept ancient PC desktop for DVD authoring wanting to streamline and just boot-camped Macbook Pro so would love to learn from your experience
